About This Spot

Stepping into Warung Laota Tuban, you’re greeted by a calm and inviting ambiance where the hum of quiet conversations blends effortlessly with the subtle clatter of familiar kitchen rhythms. This timeless spot, tucked away not far from the bustle of Kuta and close to the airport, feels like a well-loved neighborhood haven - a place where families gather and locals return time and again for comfort and connection.

The pace here is unhurried, matching the gentle warmth that radiates from every corner of the spacious dining area. The air carries the faint aroma of simmering broth and fresh seafood, hinting at the meticulous care tucked into each menu creation. While the offerings showcase classic Cantonese influences, the heart of Warung Laota lies in its porridge - a dish that invites slow, thoughtful enjoyment, often accompanied by a crisp cakue that adds a welcome texture contrast. There’s a sense of generosity in the flavors, where seafood makes regular appearances, bringing freshness and richness to the table without haste or pretense.

Warung Laota’s atmosphere is one of easy familiarity, where you might overhear laughter from a family sharing plates or catch a glimpse of attentive staff moving gracefully between tables, ensuring everyone feels tended to. While some dishes lean into tradition, others gently surprise with touches of local interpretation, reflecting a layered culinary identity that invites both newcomers and repeat visitors to find their own favorite moments here.

This is a place best experienced slowly, whether you come close to the airport’s rhythm or from the nearby beachside energy, where each bite and sip is part of a quietly unfolding story - one of good company, thoughtfully prepared food, and the warmth of a space that feels like a pause from the day’s rush.

unsure why this place is so busy, for me food is so so, even the fried prawns, its battered and fried with its head, skin like literally whole prawns, , im not fans of prawns head. I guess my taste buds is unusual.

Visited this place for the first time in 2017 and directly fell in love with the porridge, so I decided to visit it again in 2025. There's nothing changed from the porridge. The taste is still delicious. I ordered Bubur Pelangi, and the seafood is generous. It has shrimp, squid, and grouper inside. Combined with the cakue that is crispy, perfect! My toddler son also loved it a lot. The staffs are also friendly. Definitely a must place to visit

Warung Laota in Tuban serves one of the best porridge in town - rich, flavorful, and comforting. We also tried several other dishes, all of which were really delicious and well-prepared. The service is attentive and friendly, making the dining experience pleasant. Prices are on the higher side considering the portion size, but the taste and quality make it worth trying.
